Tourists have fun at Thuy Van beach (Vung Tau city).

* Provincial leaders listened to the report on land use at Thuy Van beach

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Long, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee presided over the meeting to hear the Department of Tourism report on the draft of the project "Protecting environment in tourism activities of BR-VT province in the 2017-2020 period " on the afternoon of  11st April , 2017.

The draft has comprehensively assessed the current status of the tourism environment in Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province over the past time and identified shortcomings, limitations, and proposed sustainable solutions for tourism of  BR-VT province. These solutions will be  adhered to preservation, promotion of cultural values, maintenance of the landscape, environmental protection. The draft also set the target, for the period 2017-2020, tourism revenue growth rate of 14.25% per year, growth rate of tourists reached 11.25% per year, disallow to arise new establishments which pollute the environment and  strictly treated establishments violate the code of protecting environment, encourage development kinds of sustainable tourism and develop tourism in association with assuring national security and maritime - islands security ... In order to achieve the above objectives, the draft set out five key solutions for mechanisms and policies; Organization management; Investment in facilities and equipment; Training and other solutions.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long suggested departments, sectors and localities continue to contribute ideas with Department of Tourism to soon complete the draft and submit to the Provincial People's Council for consideration and approval in the upcoming meeting.

* On the same day, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long also chaired the meeting to hear Department of  Natural Resources and Environment report on land use and fulfilling financial obligations at Thuy Van beach area (Vung Tau city).

Thuy Van beach has a total area of ??284,166 m2. The Prime Minister approved  of  hiring of  Vung Tau Investment and Construction Company (Vung Tau Construction and Real Estate Corporation - VRC now) in 1996. According to this decision, VRC was hired the area to built down Thuy Van beach. VRC signed a land lease contract with the Department of Land Administration (department of Natural Resources and Environment now ) with an area of ??176,641 m2. The rest area, with total 107,525 m2  was managed  by Vung Tau City. Currently, 8 subordinate units of VRC are using and trading in the land area has been allocated to this company. The total amount of land rent has so far been over VND 276 billion, of which the units have temporarily paid nearly VND 9.5 billion and owed more than VND 266.7 billion. The land is managed by Vung Tau City, currently are allocated to 3 units: Victory Hotel, Vung Tau Tourism Cooperative and Thuy Van Cooperative.

To conclude the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long requested the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to provide more information about the land, and in collaboration with the Department of  Finance, Taxation Department to provide detailed and accurate calculation method of  land rent. After that they have to report  and  ask  directions of the Permanent of  Provincial Party Committee.
